Good morning,

Thanks so much for helping with my parents' recent move to Rochester.  We learned of your business through an article in the Post Bulletin just as Mom and Dad were beginning to consider the possibility of leaving their home in Fargo to move nearer to us.  I rather suspect that the availability of a service like yours made their decision to move a little less traumatic.

You most certainly made the move less traumatic for them.  I can't even begin to imagine how it would feel to leave friends, neighbors, and a home that you loved to essentially start over in your mid-70's.  Your patience, understanding, and kindness during the moving process was so much appreciated.  I was touched and thankful for your care as you worked to unpack Mom and Dad's belongings in their new home. 

I was also impressed with the speed at which you completed your work.  It would have been very difficult for my parents to live amidst unpacked boxes for any length of time.  Because you were so quick at getting everything organized, Mom and Dad have been able to concentrate on making new friends and connections rather than spending their time unpacking and getting organized in their new home.

Hi Lynda and Whitney,

I read your article in the Jan/Feb HOME section and I want to applaud you two for what you are doing. My brother and I used a service similar to
yours when we moved my parents into an assisted living facility in Rochester MN. The service is called (A) Smooth Move and it is run by a husband and wife team (with many helpers). This was a quick move but they did it, and they made it so easy for us kids and my parents.

Not only did they coordinate the movers but their team did all the packing, and before they broke down the house, they photographed the pictures on the walls and placement of furniture so that when they moved everything into the new apt. they placed everything as it had been and hung the pictures exactly as they were hung in my folks home. The also put all the dishes, clothes etc. in the cupboards and closets and even made the bed.

One day was packing, the next was moving. On moving day my brother took my folks to his house (I live in CT and was not there that day) until about 4:00 when he took Mom and Dad to their new home. Mom said that when she walked in, she almost cried because everything looked the same - only in a new location. They both commented many times on how it helped to make a hard move a little easier, how exact the placement of things were, how fast it got done, and they didn’t have to do a thing but decide what to “let go” or store.

My Mother has said that the ladies that packed them up were so kind and personable and she felt they understood what she and Dad were going through. Thank you for caring for our parents. Mom and Dad wanted to stay where they were (I am sure you find that a lot), but health issues necessitated the move. It took a lot of guilt away just making the move easier for my parents and I am so grateful for people like you.
